Sometimes I’m Somewhere Else

I don’t have a post for you today because I started writing an essay about our pet triops that continually sheds its skin and I wonder if it keeps molting because it is trying to change into something that it can’t change into anymore because it’s a prehistoric something or other and it shouldn’t be alive. I’m also bothered by the fact that I called it “our pet.”  And I was really into writing that topic until the mailman handed me my copy of Martha Stewart Living and I started a new essay on how much I love her calendar at the beginning of the magazine.  Seven pages I wrote on the love I have for that stupid calendar.

So I’m real busy and that’s why I’m going to link up to some other things I wrote this past week in case you want to check them out.

A NYC church called Dwell (I love that name. How could you resist checking out a church called Dwell?) participated in an event called “Don’t Walk By” to help the homeless get off the streets.

A Virginia church fills baby bottles with loose change to make a huge difference.

And here I write about baking, Jesse getting his wisdom teeth pulled, and a few other things.

Now I need to get back to the sadness in shedding skin or the love of a well thought out plan.  It’ll be a rough night, I can tell.

It sounds like your day involved some spinning of wheels. That usually happens to me after I turn in a big project and there’s nothing looming over my head anymore. But perhaps you still have looming projects?

Baking once a week is a great idea. I usually bake bread at least once a week. If you haven’t baked bread yet this year, I think you should add it to your list.

Anita, not only do I bake bread, but one of the essays that I wrote to get into grad school was about baking bread! I really want to make that ciabatta recipe in the Food 52 book. Have you done that one?

My IPad won’t let me type the word for your ‘pet’ but it’s still a giant bug.
